More planes will fly over Watford as part of an airport expansion.
The government today gave the third runway at Heathrow Airport the green light – but under the changes, two new flightpaths are expected to fly directly over the town.
A report from the Airports Commission shows that planes will enter the town by the north east side of Cassiobury Park and fly over the centre of the town.
A second path to the East travels down over north Watford and Bushey. Currently, Heathrow Airport has no flightpaths over Watford.

David Penn, 61, who lives in Rickmansworth Road, said: “When I sit in my back garden I can quite often hear planes flying over. With more routes, I’m likely to hear them more often now.
“We don’t know how low these planes will be flying; it would be interesting to find out because it could annoy people living near Cassiobury Park, north Watford and Bushey.
“People won’t want to hear more planes flying over their house and I think this will worry some residents.”
Proposals to expand an existing runway at Heathrow or build a second runway at Gatwick were rejected, according to reports.
A public consultation will now be held on the impact of a third runway at the west London hub before the final decision is put to MPs for a vote in the winter of 2017/18.
