Three men have been charged following crowd violence during Chelsea’s tie with West Ham at the former Olympic stadium.

The men were arrested after fans clashed at the London Stadium in Stratford on Wednesday night (October 26).

James Colin Smith, 36, of Monklands, Letchworth Garden City, has been charged with common assault, assault on police and possession of class A drugs.

He has been bailed to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on November 25.

Nicholas Greenway, 51, of Eversleigh Road, Battersea, has been charged with threatening behaviour under section four of the Public Order Act 1986.

He has been bailed to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on November 11.

Michael Parker, 27, of Alexandra Road, Mitcham, has been charged with throwing missiles contrary to section four of the Football Offences Act 1991.

He has been bailed to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on November 11.

Police said last night that three more men were held, despite first saying that seven were arrested.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries until mid-December.

A man, aged 25, was arrested on suspicion of threatening behaviour.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in early January 2017.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault on police and threatening behaviour.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in November.
