Abandoned photos with a hand-written note have been discovered behind a mirror bought from a charity shop.

Photos of a baby dressed in a bonnet, a couple smiling in front of a Christmas tree, a young woman wearing in 80s clothing and siblings laughing on a sofa were all found behind a mirror bought from a charity shop in Watford.

Judging by the handheld landline phone, VCR and large box television, the photos have been estimated to range from 60s to 90s.

With the photos was a hand-written note that read: “Good morning Liam. Hope you had a good night sleep with snowy. Mummy couldn’t get to sleep until 4:00 this morning my belly is very big now and it hurts a lot.

"I am going into hospital today please get ready nicely for school and keep house neat and tidy. Let’s love each other and be good and go to school. Friends Mummy Liam together 4 eva.

"If I’m asleep wake me gently.”

The mirror was part of a sideboard that was purchased in an unknown Watford charity shop recently.

The new owner contacted the Observer to help try and reunite the photos with their owner.
