A driver narrowly escaped being hit by a speeding van as she took her children home.
The woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, was travelling with her seven-year-old twins when she had to swerve to miss a white van just after the new traffic lights in South Way, Abbots Langley.
CCTV footage shows the moment the van drove past Evergreen Football Club towards the new estate shortly before the incident.
The incident took place at 7.48pm yesterday.
The driver told the Observer: “We were seconds from a head on collision. Had I not quickly moved and spun my car we would have for sure been dead.
“We are totally shaken and in disbelief right now.”
The driver is appealing to the driver of a black Volvo V40 plate ending FHP to come forward as they may have seen what happened.
Police are investigating.
