A government minister paid a visit to a Watford charity today to see how it is helping the region’s lonely and isolated elderly population.
Rob Wilson, minister for civil society, met with workers at the Small Acts of Kindness headquarters, along with supporters of the charity and key stakeholders Warner Brothers, as part of “Giving Tuesday” – a day which seeks to shift the focus away from the materialism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Small Acts of Kindness sources and distributes gifts, such as warm winter gift packs which include blankets, thermal socks and hot drinks, to elderly people in Hertfordshire.
Charity founder Lynne Misner was also presented with the Prime Minister’s Points of Light Award for her outstanding contribution to the community.
