Watford experienced some of its worst winters in the 1960s, but it didn't keep Santa from visiting and spreading Christmas cheer, particularly when the chance to meet Shirley Eaton was on offer.
Heavy snowfall was a common sight, as the Big Freeze of winter 1962-63 took hold. The pond in the Parade also freezed over in 1969.
