A housing developer has resubmitted plans to build 27 houses on a former equestrian centre.

Developers from Clovercourt Fusion planned to demolish 37 Bucks Avenue, Watford, and Bucks Meadow equestrian centre to build 34 homes with a village green with pond and play area. However in May Hertsmere Borough Council's planning committee rejected the application.

Now the developers have resubmitted an application to both Hertsmere and Watford Borough Councils to build 27 homes on the same land.

As the access to the site is in Oxhey Village, Watford, the application would require planning permission from both councils.

Watford Borough Cllr Peter Taylor, who opposed the original plans, will be meeting with members of the Oxhey Village Environment Group (OVEG) along with Hertsmere planning officers to discuss this proposal this Wednesday.

OVEG originally petitioned against the previous development when it was first submitted in August 2015 fearing it would be a 'traffic nightmare'.

Comments on the proposed application can be made on both council websites and the deadline is January 2 although both councils will consider objections submitted up until the point when the decision is made.
