This is the shocking moment a mass brawl broke out outside a popular Watford nightclub.

Eyewitnesses said the street violence broke out last night after people were turned away from the club – including those who had bought tickets.

Watford Observer:

No one was injured during the disturbance, which took place at around 1am in The Parade.

Emily Black said it was like "cattle going to the slaughter". The 19-year-old, who bought tickets two weeks before last night's event, said: "It was cramped when we got there but not that bad just a little bit of pushing.

"Then Pryzm closed their vinyl doors and all hell broke loose.

"The queue was quite frightening, everyone was jumping over the barriers to get in, people were pushing left right and centre, I actually felt like cattle going to the slaughter.

"People were breaking the metal barriers due to all the pushing.

"One man had his leg trapped under a barrier and about 10 people were on top of this squashing his leg and no one could move to get of it, it was very upsetting to watch."

"We decided that we had enough as I was getting upset at the things I was seeing and wasn't going to risk my life any more just to get into a nightclub.

"It was one of the worse experience of my life."

Millie Field, 19, was on a night out with a friend. She said: "We came out with cuts and bruises last night after we were pushed to the floor by one of the bouncers.

"Considering I work in a club in central Manchester, which takes a high influx of students on student nights as well as the fact I have been going to Oceana Watford well before it was ever Pryzm, I have never witnessed anything like this before.

"It was an absolute disgrace and it was a perfect example of bouncers asserting their 'authority' over paying customers. To have police there as back up is embarrassing and considering I have known and loved the club as Oceana I will not ever be returning to PRYZM again. Poorly organised and disgusting staff."

Speaking on behalf of the club, Jo Mathers said: “The popularity of last night's event was unprecedented and, for safety reasons, we were forced to turn people away.

"This was done safely with the support of the Police. We would like to apologise for any disappointment caused and will be issuing full refunds for customers with tickets who didn't get in."

Alex Ringrose said there was a queue of 3,000 waiting to get in. He said: "All my mates paid £6-£10 online to get the tickets and clearly they had over sold for the night, bouncers were dragging people out of queues and fights were breaking out over queue positions. It was quite disgusting really."

Another clubber Alex Nunn took a video of the incident. He added: "When I arrived there were two queues - one for people with tickets, one for without.

"Within seconds it was perfectly clear there was no organisation, crowd control and frankly no staff.

"The bouncers were no where to be seen, allowing the groups of people to get bigger and chaos to begin.

"It was awful, people were getting trampled on and having to be pulled/carried out."
