Plans are emerging for a 23-storey block of flats in central Watford, the second such development to come to light in recent months.

The proposal put forward by Clarendon Road Developments consists of commercial office accommodation set over eight floors “suitable for a corporate headquarters”, along with cafés and restaurant facilities open to the public on the site of 37-39 Clarendon Road.

It will also include 142 apartments over 23 floors.

According to a leaflet posted to residents living in the area, a public consultation will be held over two days next week to gauge public reaction to the plans.

It adds: “We want to ensure that the local residents and businesses help shape the proposals and deliver a scheme that will enhance the local area.”

The consultation will take place at the Beechen Baptist Church hall on Clarendon Road from 2.30pm until 7pm on Friday January 13, and from 2.30pm until 6pm on Saturday 14.
