More than £1,600 has been raised for charity in memory of Graham Taylor.

After Taylor died last week, a Watford woman set up a Just Giving page for Peace Hospice Care.

Alice Arnold invites people to share memories of Graham and raise funds for the hospice.

Taylor became a patron of the Peace Hospice in 2011 but had been making regular visits since 1998.

Miss Arnold describes Graham as a true legend, a gentleman and a family man.

Declan Carroll, CEO of Peace Hospice Care, said: “We were extremely sad to hear of the passing of Graham Taylor.

“He was a key member of the Watford community as well as a patron and long-standing supporter of Peace Hospice Care.

“Graham always went the extra mile to support our hospice through donations, speaking at events on our behalf, visiting our patients and speaking to them on the phone.

"All our patients and staff were always delighted when Graham visited Peace Hospice Care. He would take the time to talk to our patients about their lives as well as football, which they greatly appreciated.

"Many of our patients have been life-long Watford and England fans, so for them it was like meeting their hero.

“We're extremely touched that a Just Giving page has been set up in his name, with proceeds raised going to the Hospice. It has received incredible support and reflects just how important Graham was in bringing the community together.”
