To the man in the street, the Met Line must seems a bit of a shambles. Perhaps some people would welcome the Trump approach: it's about time someone did something about it.

All week there has been speculation over whether or not the multi-million pound project will go ahead.

A number of authorities have (begrudgingly) spoken up, but we know little more about the future of the project now than we did a week ago.

Transport for London says services are "under review"; MP Richard Harrington says he sees "no reason" why it won't go ahead and Mayor Dorothy Thornhill says the project has "come too far".

But all these statements are lacking conviction.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan left the plans out of his draft business plan. Whether this is because he has no interest in a project outside of The City or because he is holding out for more money from the Government, and is using a scheme in an area with a Tory MP as a gambling chip, nobody knows.

But one would expect something a bit more colourful from the Watford MP and Mayor.

Affinity Water has stopped work. Does our Mayor or MP know why? No.

It's easy to point the finger while feebling promising an extension. But when are we getting answers?

Residents - whether they are for or against the development - are sick of being left in the dark. No amount of non-commital, official statments will comfort them.

Where is the lobbying? Where is the pressure from our MP and Mayor? Where are the answers?

There was a meeting on Friday between the key stakeholders. Let's hope that a plan was drawn up and that it will be communicated to the public, but don't hold your breath.
