Watford are not expected to take any action against Troy Deeney after he was threatened with pepper spray outside a nightclub.
Hornets captain Deeney is understood to have been punched inside the Levana Bar in Birmingham after turning down a fan's persistent requests for a photograph.
He was among several people thrown out of the club by bouncers and a WPC brandished a pepper spray canister inches from his face when he was being told to calm down by officers outside.
Deeney, 28, briefed club officials at Vicarage Road early on Sunday morning about the incident, but they will not be issuing a statement.
Watford's seven-goal top scorer had been enjoying a night out in his home city hours after the 2-0 defeat at Manchester United.
