The players receiving the highest wages at each club in the Premier League have been revealed.

The highest paid player in the league is Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, who earns a staggering £300,000 a week according to figures in the Times.

Manchester City players Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure both rake in £240,000 a week while Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas – often a bit-part player this season – earns £220,000 a week.

It is unsurprising that Watford’s talismanic captain Troy Deeney receives the highest wage paid to players at the Vicarage Road club, earning £100,000 a week – the same amount as England forwards Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy, and French international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
