School pupils have been awarded seven scholarships between them in another round of 11 plus exams.

This year's cohort from St Hilda's School, in Bushey, have secured places at schools including Haberdashers' Aske's School for Girls, St Margaret’s School, Aldenham School, Watford Grammar School for Girls, Royal Masonic School, St Albans High School for Girls, and St Clement Danes School.

Scholarships have been offered to Mia Mortensen, Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls Academic Scholarship, Royal Masonic School Academic Scholarship.

Remi Parmar, Royal Masonic School All Rounder Scholarship, Isra Salahuddin, St Margaret’s School Art Scholarship.

Faith Victoria,St Margaret’s School Drama Scholarship, and Amber Yebovi, Aldenham School Music Scholarship, St Margaret’s School Art Scholarship.

Katie Lemon has been selected for the elite Sporting Excellence Programme at Harefield Academy.

36 per cent of pupils who applied to schools in the independent sector received scholarships.

Faith Victoria, who has earned a drama scholarship to St Margaret’s, said: “When I heard the news, I was exhilarated. I am going to do my absolute best and I know I will have a great time."

Head teacher Sarah Styles said she is delighted that the range of scholarships awarded to the girls reflects the broad curriculum at the school.

She said: "In a class of just 16 girls, seven scholarships is an astounding result.

“We are so proud of our girls’ outstanding achievements. They have met the 11 plus process with true St Hilda’s spirit and it is wonderful to see their effort and perseverance being so richly rewarded.”
