A neighbourhood group tackled crime in the area in a stop-and-search event last week.
Operation Raj was led by the Bushey and Radlett Safer Neighbourhood Team between 7.30am and 11.30am on Wednesday, March 29.
The sting was launched in Bushey to combat fly-tipping and unsafe taxis and to challenge any other criminal activity discovered at the event.
Drivers were stopped by officers to check that taxis and private hire vehicles were safe and that those carrying rubbish had the correct licences to dispose of it.
Of the 55 vehicles stopped that morning, two were given prohibition notices for being dangerous and un-road worthy, eight minor vehicle defects were written up and three minor traffic offences were reported.
Environmental health from Hertsmere Borough Council, HM revenues and customs and Environmental Agency officers were in attendance on the operation while UK Border Agency workers could be called regarding immigration issues.
