An overgrown corner of land which had become a “magnet for anti-social behaviour” has been cleared.
Residents, police and staff at Watford Girls Grammar School had been complaining that the partly fenced-off and well-screened plot of land where Ladys Close joins Exchange Road was being misused by miscreants.
However after “considerable pressure” and a joint meeting between the council and concerned parties, an action plan was drawn up.
Councillors Stephen Giles-Medhurst and Steve Bolton pressured the county council to clear the area
The overgrown bushes have now been removed – allowing the main tree in the plot room to grow – and the land levelled and seeded with grass seed.
As well as resolving the anti-social behaviour issue, the clearing of the area has also improved visibility for drivers.
