A former town centre office block could be converted into flats after planning permission was granted.

Three floors of the building in The Parade, formerly used as office space, have been vacant since 2012. The ground floor unit which was previously used as a bar but is now also empty.

Developer Tallow Estates is proposing to turn the top three floors of the four-storey building into 14 apartments.

No parking would be provided for the apartments given the building’s close proximity to public transport.

However one condition of planning permission being granted is that no occupant will be allowed to move into the property until appropriate cycle storage has been installed.
