Watford Borough Council and its partner Veolia will be operating a revised rubbish collection timetable during the Easter period.

Rubbish collections will take place one day later than usual.

All rubbish due to be collected on Friday will be collected on Saturday, all rubbish due to be collected on Monday will be collected on Tuesday , and so on.

All collections will return to normal on Monday April 24.

You can find out when your next collection date is at www.watford.gov.uk/mybinday

Residents are reminded of the importance of recycling during the Easter period.

Much Easter egg packaging can be placed in the blue-lidded recycling bin, which is for items including cardboard and plastic pots, tubs and trays.

Food and garden waste goes in the green-lidded bin. The council delivered new food caddies to every house in Watford last year.

Jamie Sells, head of waste and recycling at Watford Borough Council, said: “Recycling right helps prevent waste from going to landfill unnecessarily. This saves money and also prevents harmful methane gasses from being released into the atmosphere, and therefore helps the environment.

"We encourage everyone to do their bit to help the planet by recycling right.”
