Police investigating a spate of burglaries are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At around 2am on Monday, April 17, the would-be burglars used a ladder to climb up to a second floor window of a house in The Ridgeway.

As they reached through in an attempt to open a bigger window from the inside, they disturbed the occupant and ran off.

On the same night, between 12.15am and 12.35am, offenders gained entry to a property in Ridge Lane through a second floor window. It is still unclear whether anything was stolen.

Attempts were also made to gain access to a second property in Ridge Lane, sometime between Sunday, April 16 and Tuesday, April 18, however they were unsuccessful.

Neighbourhood inspector Nick Lillitou said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area between the times stated to please contact the Watford Local Crime Unit. Any information at all could assist our enquiries.”

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact the Watford Local Crime Unit via the non-emergency number 101.
