IBF Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua gave his former coach the surprise of his life by turning up to his training centre and gifting him an expensive BMW.

In heartwarming footage – available above – the Watford-born boxer drives through the streets of Barnet to meet Sean Murphy who he says was "the guy who started me off boxing”.

The 27-year-old boxer then gets out of his car and walks into the Finchley A.B.C. training centre to surprise his former coach.

Anthony chats to Sean, who reveals the boxing star could have gone a very different route in life.

He recalls: "Remember I said 'Whatever you're doing is not legal. You've got to stop it now. If you want to get serious and box you've got to stop it now'."

The grateful champion then takes Sean out to the parking lot to surprise him with a brand new BMW worth £60,000 with the words Finchley A.B.C. engraved on the registration plate.

Anthony then jokes: "There's a little contract on it so you can't sell it in six weeks."

And the IBF Heavyweight Champion told his former coach that the generous gift is just the tip of the iceberg, adding: "This is just something to get off my own chest.

"There's a lot more to come."

Anthony faces Ukrainian boxer – and former WBA, IBF and WBO champion – Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday (April 29) at Wembley Stadium.

The British star won his last 10 bouts while Klitschko had his unbeaten streak broken by Brit Tyson Fury in 2015.

Klitschko has already taunted his rival, saying he could "crumble like a cookie".
