A historial fiction writer will be hosting at event with his latest novel, Dunstan.

Conn Iggulden, who began his career as an English teacher at Haydon School in Northwood Hills, in Hillingdon, where he taught TV and radio presenter Fearne Cotton.

His new book takes place in the red-blooded days of Anglo-Saxon England. This is the original game for the English throne.

It is set in 10th century England, follows the fight of two men, King Æthelstan, grandson of Alfred the Great, together with his ambitious and witty companion Dunstan of Glastonbury, to unite England and banish anarchy and misrule forever.

The event organised by Chorleywood Bookshop will take place at Chenies Manor, with drinks on the lawn from 6.45pm.
