Things are returning to normal at hospitals run by the West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust following last week’s nationwide cyber attack.
The trust – which runs hospitals in Watford, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead – experienced IT failures last week but a spokesperson said these were not linked to the malware attack which has caused disruption at 45 NHS sites over the past couple of days.
To protect itself the trust shut down its computer systems on Friday, which meant staff were unable to accept incoming phone calls.

This morning the trust said that all three of its hospitals were open and running but added that there may be “some delays” to a few of its systems.
The East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust is still being affected by Friday’s attack, with non-urgent blood tests and hospitals in Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City not being carried out.
However people with appointments have been told to assume they are going ahead unless they have been told otherwise.
