New councillors have been appointed to deal with your problems.

They have been appointed by Council Leader Robert Gordon following the local elections for Hertfordshire County Council on Thursday, May 4.

If you are concerned about adult care and health in the county get in touch with Cllr Colette Wyatt-Lowe for Hemel Hempstead North East who has been chairman of the panel since May 2014.

Cllr Teresa Heritage representing Harpenden South West has been appointed to look after children’s services in the area.

Cllr Richard Thake has been nominated as the Chairman of the Council by the Conservative Group and so Cllr Terry Hone is now responsible for community safety and waste management.

If you are worried that your library is being neglected or need to voice an issue with schools in the area, get in touch with Cllr Terry Douris who is also in charge of localism.

Cllr Derrick Ashley will remain the chairman of the environment, planning and transport committee, so you’ll be able to keep in touch with him about littering or air pollution.

The councillor responsible for highways is Cllr Ralph Sangster, who has been promoted from his role as vice-chairman of the panel last year.

If you are sick of the state of public health contact Cllr Richard Roberts, formerly in charge of children’s service.

David Williams will remain as Deputy Leader of the council, as well as taking responsibility for resources, property and enterprise.

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst remains Leader of the Liberal Democrats with Cllr Paul Zukowskyi as his deputy.

Cllr Judi Billing has become Leader of the Labour Group after Leon Reefe lost his seat. Cllr Nigel Bell is Deputy of the Labour Group.

The council will choose its new Leader of Hertfordshire County Council at the first full meeting on Tuesday, May 22 since the local elections.

As Robert Gordon is the only nominee from the largest party in the county to be put forward and the position is voted on, it seems unlikely that there will be any changes to this.

After the meeting, cabinet members will choose panels to help them sort out the problems for the areas they are responsible for.
