Visitors to this weekend’s Ricky Festival will get a chance to meet and get a selfie with a local “Knockout King”.
Unbeaten boxer Elliott Matthews, who is a highly regarded middleweight prospect, will be signing autographs from between 1.30pm and 2.30pm at the Gibbs Gillespie stand.
Estate agents Gibbs Gillespie has joined the boxer’s team of sponsors and are also involved with sponsoring this year’s festival.
Elliott said: “Gibbs Gillespie have generously become one of my team of sponsors and appearing at their stand and meeting local people is something I’m really looking forward to.”
James Gibbs said: “I’ve always been a fan of boxing right back to the days of Henry Cooper and Muhammad Ali. So when Elliott approached us we were delighted to get involved and offer our support.
“The recent success and popularity of Anthony Joshua shows that boxing is a sport which transforms young lives and gives a sense of direction, discipline and respect.
“The festival is always a great occasion and we’re looking forward to hosting Elliott on our stand and giving people the opportunity to meet him and get to know more about his goal to become British Middleweight Champion.”
