The London Midland Class 350 train, which has been renamed “Graham Taylor OBE” as a “last tribute to Taylor’s memory”, has been fitted with a commemorative plaque.

The train will pass through stations serving many places associated with Graham’s long career including Watford Junction, Aston, Wolverhampton, Wembley Central and Lichfield Trent Valley.

An unveiling ceremony will take place at 12 noon on platform 10 at Watford Junction station, complete with speeches and music from a string quartet.

Guests are invited to arrive at 11.30am but capacity on the platform is limited so members of the public who are not invited guests may be refused entry if numbers exceed safe levels.

Under the leadership of Taylor and rock star Sir Elton, Watford won five promotions, reached the FA Cup final, the last 16 of the UEFA Cup and turned an unfashionable club with a dog track into the original family club.

Taylor - who lived in Kings Langley - died suddenly from a heart attack in January, aged 72.
