Flood warnings have been issued as forecasters warn that weeks of rain could fall in just one hour later today.
The Met Office is warning of torrential downpours between 1pm and 11pm, adding that most places will miss the worst of the weather but that we could see some localised flooding and difficult driving conditions.
Frequent lightning and even hail could provide additional hazards.
The East and South East of England are predicted to be the worst affected areas.
