A burst water main closed a main road today.
Elstree Road has remained closed due to the heavy flooding from the 20-inch length of pipe.
Hertfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service attended to pull cars out as they were stuck but they were not involved in pumping away any water.
Affinity Water's Kevin Barton said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by a burst on a 20 inch main along the A41 in Elstree.
"Dagger Lane, at the junction of the A41 and Elstree Hill are currently closed due to a large amount of water on the road. Our teams are working hard to clear this as quickly as possible and re-open the road.
"We would like to thank our customers for their patience whilst we carry out this work.”
