Animals, stalls and Harry Potter-themed fancy dress were at the centre of a carnival for all the family on Saturday.
The annual Kings Langley Carnival saw crowds from all over the village come together to take part in games, competitions, and entertainment while raising funds for local charities.
Highlights included a dog show from Forever Hounds Trust, where 118 entrants went head to head for the prize of best in show, while Appreciating Animals brought a menagerie or farmyard animals for children to handle and pet.
The carnival’s chairman Carol Chandler said: “I never thought I would say this but it was great to see the weather cooling off a little after the previous weeks excessive temperatures and the people of Kings Langley came out to support this fantastic village event.
“We had a great mix of regular and new acts on stage as well as some new faces amongst the stall holders and field entertainment.”
Jodie Hocking and Sienna Simmonds-Moore were the Harry Potter fancy dress competition winners, with costumes ranging from Harry’s loveable teacher Hagrid to his pet owl, Hedwig.
Ms Chandler added: “We are hugely grateful to everyone for such an amazing day from the small army of volunteers who ensured everything went according to plan to the very generous sponsors which meant we were able to provide such a fabulous day and raise as much money as possible for charity.”
