The promoters of the Watford Health Campus project are exhibiting their plans at two public events next week.

Watford Borough Council and Kier Property are working in tandem on the £350 million project to redevelop land near Watford General Hospital to provide hundreds of new homes, a retirement village and a commercial development.

The project was recently renamed Watford Riverwell, losing its previous Watford Health Campus title.

Following the start of the extensive clean-up operation on the former industrial site, and the opening of link road Thomas Sawyer Way, homes are now ready to be built.

The community exhibitions will take place at the Captain’s Suite at Watford Football Club in Vicarage Road on Saturday July 8 between 10am and 2pm, and on Tuesday July 11 between 4pm and 8pm

Pip Prongue, managing director of Kier Property South and a member of the project partnership board, said: “Fantastic progress is now being made on delivering Watford Riverwell.

“Following the opening of the road to the hospital and the start of the clean-up, the team are now ready to create a new community and area for all of Watford to enjoy.

“Trade City, which will create 180 local jobs, will open in the summer and we will be starting to build the first homes later this year.

“We do hope that local people will come along to the exhibition and let us have their thoughts and feedback. The key to the success of Watford Riverwell is the community.

“We are committed to actively engaging with the community to ensure Watford Riverwell delivers positive change. Local residents and businesses have been informed every step of the way as our plans develop, and we will keep it that way.”

Those unable to attend the exhibition will be able to comment online on a new website www.riverwell-regeneration.com which has been established to keep residents updated about the project.
