Students at a part time theatre school were “delighted” to perform in their biggest gala to raise money for a hospice last week.

More than a hundred and twenty children from Chorleywood and Rickmansworth Stagecoach performed a number of songs and dance routines at Watersmeet Theatre, in Rickmansworth, on June 25, in support of The Peace Hospice.

The show featured Stagecoach’s street dance company Caution, as well as their new ballet troupe who tapped along to a number of modern musical numbers.

Stagecoach principal and vocal coach Kitty Gould was “proud” to see her students put on a an energetic show, particularly as they also recently performed a medley of songs from Starlight Express at Her Majesty’s Theatre, in Haymarket, St. James's.

She said: “We were delighted to perform at Watersmeet for such a special cause that is so close to our hearts. The students have worked very hard led by a fantastic teaching team of experienced performers, meaning the standard of work this year is outstanding.

“With our 10th anniversary year just round the corner, this feels like a wonderful way to kick off a year of celebration, in aid of The Peace Hospice.

“This charity has touched so many of us personally in the local area and we are honoured to be able to support such a worthwhile and valuable local cause.”

Following their success at Watersmeet, the school is holding a free Discovery Day for local children and parents on Saturday September 2 at 10am, at Little Green School in Croxley Green.

The day will give interested children the chance to try out classes, meet the team and discover all about what Stagecoach Chorleywood and Rickmansworth has coming up next year.

For details about the Discovery Day, email or call the school on Rickmansworth@stagecoach.co,uk or 01923 771291.
