Musical maestros took to a prominent local stage for their most ambitious shows yet.
More than 300 musicians took to the stage at Watford Colosseum to perform the Verdi Requiem.
The St Clement Danes School’s first orchestra were joined by the school choir along with students from Parmiter’s School and the Choral Sociiety on Saturday, July 15.
They were conducted by St Clement Danes’ Director of Music Anna Stevens and were joined by parents, ex-students, members of the Amersham Band, as well as professional musicians in the area.
World class singers soprano Melissa Alder and mezzo soprano Christine Rice from the Royal Opera House, tenor David Gwynne-Evans and former student Thomas Isherwood raised their voices to perform solos in the requiem.
Anna Stevens said: “It was a real privilege to conduct such an amazing group of people.”
The audience gave a standing ovation and took to Twitter to express their adulation of the performance.
This was the final performance from St Clement Danes as the school-year comes to an end.
