Cash and mobile phones were among items stolen from four vehicles parked at a school.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident at Parmiters School, in High Elms Lane, Abbots Langley, on Wednesday, July 26, between 7.45pm and 10.15pm.
Mobile phones, wallets, cash, Ray-Ban sunglasses, sports jackets and a handbag were some of the items which were stolen.
Neighbourhood sergeant Chris Simmons warned people not to leave valuable items on show in their cars.
He said: “I am appealing for anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious in the area between the times stated to please get in touch.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind people to remove all valuables from their vehicles when leaving them unattended, even from the glove box and boot.
“It takes just seconds for an opportunist thief to break in and steal them. Not only are motorists left with the cost of replacing these items, they also face hefty repair bills for the damage caused to the vehicle.”
Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact the Abbots Langley Safer Neighbourhood Team via the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C2/17/2334.
