A display of 100 metal poppies have been unveiled at a shopping centre to commemorate the memory of those who were cared for by a hospice.

The pastel coloured flowers will be on show on the first floor of intu, in Beechen Grove, throughout the summer holidays.

The Peace Hospice Poppy Appeal invited members of the public to donate to the hospice and dedicate a poppy in memory of a loved one.

intu is supporting the appeal through their display to help to raise awareness of the services the hospice provides and the importance of supporting it.

Leigh Brooks, marketing manager at intu Watford, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Peace Hospice Poppy Appeal, raising awareness of a great charity at the heart of the local community.

“The Poppy Appeal is a fantastic way of celebrating the lives of loved ones that we have lost, whilst supporting the great services that Peace Hospice Care provides. “The beautiful poppy display here, at intu Watford, is guaranteed to be very popular with our customers.”

Deana Cadden, direct marketing manager, added: “We commissioned these poppies so that our supporters could commemorate the memory of a loved one and, through giving a donation, help to support other local families who need Peace Hospice Care.

“We are delighted that intu Watford is supporting the appeal – the local community is at the heart of what we do and can only deliver our specialist services because of their support.”
