Thousands of people braved “atrocious” weather to watch a marching band perform at a fete in a park.

The Party In The Park event was held in the grounds of the Royal Masonic School for Girls, at Rickmansworth Park, on Saturday July 22.

Attractions included a funfair, marching bands and three tribute bands, who played the music of Rod Stewart, Buddy Holly and ABBA.

The fete was hosted by the Provincial Grand Lodges of Hertfordshire and Middlesex to celebrate 300 years of Freemasonry under the Grand Lodge of England.

An event spokesman said: “Despite the weather, the event attracted thousands of people comprising freemasons, their families and friends and members of the public.”
