Police have released an e-fit of a man they wish to speak to after a 13-year-old boy had his phone stolen by a man on a bike.
The boy was walking along Green Lane, at around 3.30pm on Monday, July 10 when he was approached by a teenager on a black pedal cycle, near the junction with Prestwick Road.
The cyclist grabbed the victim’s mobile phone and while he was struggling to get it back the cyclist pushed the victim before taking his watch and mobile phone.
A passer-by, who was also riding a black pedal cycle, chased down the suspect as he cycled off towards Hayling Road and retrieved the victim’s phone, before another boy, aged around 11 years old, walked the victim home.
Detective Constable Nicola Stewart, who is investigating, said: “Thankfully the boy was not injured during the incident but is understandably upset following his ordeal.
“Our enquiries are continuing and I would like to identify the person pictured as part of the investigation. If you think you may know who this person is, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
