Budding boarders will have the opportunity to learn to how to skate at a village’s annual summer festival.

The Croxley Jams event is returning for its 11th year for a weekend of sports, music and food between Friday August 11 and Sunday, August 13.

Beginners can learn to skate with staff at ABC Skateboarding providing free skateboard coaching on Saturday morning.

For the more advanced, there are also competitions in scooting, skateboarding and BMX.

Other highlights of the weekend include t-shirt printing with skate company Lovenskate, great food and music provided by Watford based Brothers BBQ & Grill, as well as the Stunt Airbag making a return on the Sunday to enable the more daring riders to try out advanced tricks and jumps.

Deputy leader of the council and lead member for Leisure, Community and Wellbeing Councillor Chris Lloyd said: “The Croxley Jams have become a regular event in our summer programme and one I look forward to each year and provide a great opportunity to see some of the talented Skaters and BMXers we have living in the district.

“You don’t even have to be a competitor, this an event for everyone to enjoy soaking up the atmosphere by watching participants, listening to music and take parting in the other activities on offer.“
