Police are searching for a group of men who pulled up to a 15-year-old boy in two cars and kicked and punched him in the head.
Between 10.30pm and 10.50pm on Tuesday, August 1, the teenager was walking along Gosforth Lane, in South Oxhey, close to All Saints Church.
Two vehicles suddenly pulled up and a group of males got out of the vehicles, where they started assaulted him by kicking and punching him, resulting in bruising to his head.
The offenders then got back into the vehicles and made off.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C3/17/1011, or report it online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
