Teenage Explorer Scouts in Watford enjoyed action and adventure on an excursion to Slovenia.
A group of 30 scouts aged between 14 and 18, together with their group leaders, spent two weeks on an expedition to the Soca Valley in the Julian Alps area of the country.
Activities included rafting and canoeing in the crystal waters of the Soca river, canyoning, mountain biking through forest trails, and navigating high ropes.
The young explorers also completed a high level hike, overnighting at a mountain hut on the Italian border.
A particular highlight for many was the opportunity to soar above the mountains in a tandem paraglide, which involved running off the top of a mountain attached only to an open parachute and an instructor.
Many of the Explorer Scouts have been in scouting since they were six-years-old and help out at local scout groups as young leaders.
