Three brothers completed a gruelling mountaineering challenge in aid of a Watford-based charity which helps children with special needs.

Last weekend, Merrill, Darren and Robert Lynch embarked on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge – which covers 24 miles and 5,000 feet of climbing – in support of Playskill.

When asked about the challenge ahead of the event, Merrill said: "The most challenging part of the climb will definitely be the final 500m to the top of Pen-y-Ghent; but we like a challenge so we’re even setting ourselves a target to complete all three peaks in under eight hours.”

"We are delighted to be raising money for such a worthy cause, and we are planning to do a challenge every year for Playskill.”

Along the way, the trio faced rocky terrain, steep climbs and towering peaks.

However their hard work paid off as they were able to raise more than £300 for the charity.
