A late-night rave due to take place in North Watford this weekend has been moved over fears concerning the number of people attending.

Sun Dance 2, boasting two rooms of garage, rave and house music, was due to run until 12.30am on Bank Holiday Monday morning.

However Watford Cricket Club, in Horseshoe Lane, which was due to host the event, confirmed it had been cancelled.

The rave will instead be held at Aldenham Country Park and will run until 3am.

A post on the Sun Dance 2 Facebook page said the move was due to “persistent issues with our Woodside venue and the volume of people coming”.

Before the move was announced, one neighbour said Woodside residents should be concerned “as there is the potential for a very disturbing bank holiday weekend”.

He also said he was surprised that Watford Borough Council had not consulted residents about the event.
