There has been concern from all sections of the community about the closure of Garston bus garage, from drivers, to their passengers and politicians of all parties.
People use bus services for many different reasons; without a car elderly and vulnerable people may struggle to get to the post office or town centre and students who have not yet passed their driving tests may find it difficult to get to college on time or need a cheaper form of getting home from the pub besides an expensive taxi.
It was announced last week that the Garston bus garage, in St Albans Road, is set to close next year in a bid to save money, despite ever-increasing fares.
This could potentially result in bus drivers being relocated 17 miles away to Hemel Hempstead as well as many members of the community losing their much-needed routes.
Many changes need to be made to the roads around Watford to reduce traffic and pollution, but is basing a vital service out of town a wise idea?
