A church which provides a number of invaluable services to the community – including a food bank – is asking for help towards its refurbishment project.

Work has already begun on renovating both the interior and exterior of Watford Elim Church in St Albans Road.

Roofs, windows and gutters are being repaired or replaced, and scaffolding has been hired to help with the work.

The overall aim is to re-develop the church so that it is better able to deliver services to the local community.

The church has been delivering a food bank service to some of the most vulnerable people in the community, seven days a week, for five years now.

Pastor Guy Miller is asking for people to donate their time, money and support to help their cause, with the cost of the current work estimated at £50,000.

He added: “A very big thank you for your understanding and consideration in these matters and all help is deeply appreciated. Please share the good news with others.”
