An enormous fire at a warehouse is causing major disruption on the trains this morning.

Firefighters from across the region attended the blaze at the timber yard and offices in Chantry Place, Harrow, just before midnight last night.

The London Fire Brigade said 12 people living nearby had been evacuated as a precaution.

Watford Observer:

The fire is now under control but there are currently no London Midland or Southern services running between Milton Keynes and London Euston, while services between Watford Junction and Euston are running but with severe delays.

All trains through Headstone Lane have been cancelled.

A shuttle service is being operated between Euston and Harrow and Wealdstone to allow services along the west coast to run.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: "Passengers wanting to travel on the West Coast Main Line are urged to check with their train operator or nationalrail.co.uk before travelling as disruption and cancellations are to be expected throughout the day.

"The safety of passengers and staff is our priority. We are working with our partners at London Midlands, Southern, Virgin Trains West Coast, Caledonian Sleeper and the emergency services to update passengers as when more information becomes available."
