Get ready to prepare a toast, or just start spreading butter on heated bread in celebration of a new food festival.

The first ever Watford Food and Drink week will kick off on Monday and carry on until Sunday, October 1.

The week-long campaign run by Watford BID will highlight the variety of food and drink available in the town centre.

The event will be showcasing the best on offer from high-street brands to well-loved independent restaurants and stores.

Featured feasts will include special set menus from restaurants including Barracuda, L’artista and Pepe Rosso.

Diners will also be treated to special offers from GBK, Zinco, Bar Bodega, Global Buffet and more.

For those wanting to tantalise their taste-buds with new flavours there will be free tastings from Waitrose, M&S and Zizzi.

Wannabe mixologists can shake things up with a masterclass and free cocktails from the team at Steinbeck and Shaw.

If real ales and craft lagers are more your flavour, however be sure to attend the meet the brewer events taking place from Wetherspoons and a special Popes Yard pop-up bar at the LP Café.

And for anyone looking to feed rather than feast then fear not as these desires will also be catered for.

Any master bakers in the making get ready to take part in The Great Watford Bake Off in St Mary’s Church in Church Street.

The event is being run with the Peace Hospice Care to give any rising stars a chance to puff with pride as well and raise money for an important local charity.
