Garston Ladies’ Seconds shook off an unwelcome hoodoo to finally overcome Royston Town Reserves last weekend.
Having lost twice to the Crows last season, Dion Lewis’ double and a third from Charley Kelsey helped Garston to a 3-1 win to continue their winning start to the season.
There was less joy for the young sides, with the Under-18s beaten 5-1 in their first game of the season against Ruislip Rangers, with Emily Downey the side’s lone scorer.
The Under-16 Panthers had an even tougher day against Hoddesdon Town Owls, going down 6-1, while the Pumas came out on the wrong end of a seven-goal thriller, losing 4-3 despite Neve Mayes’ hat-trick.
The Under-15s fared better, with the Lionesses winning 3-2 over Harpenden Colts Sapphires through Charlotte Bambridge and a Carla Slim brace.
And the Tigers were 5-2 winners over Bedwell Rangers, with Charlotte Rice’s hat-trick helping them to victory, and Niamh Arnold and Georgia Rosenberg also on target.
