A wrist injury has forced Matt Wallace to pull out of the British Masters.
The Moor Park Golf Club professional withdrew after four holes of his second round at Close House because his “wrist was too painful to swing”.
The 27-year-old had been one-under-par overnight after yesterday’s first round, but had dropped to two-over when he decided he was unable to continue at the Lee Westwood-hosted event.
With regret I have had to withdraw from #britishmasters @EuropeanTour. Wrist was too painful to swing. Thankyou for the support.

Wallace has been playing with the problem in recent weeks and, via social media, thanked the European Tour’s physio unit on Wednesday for their help in managing the issue, revealing he was due to have an injection in three weeks for inflammation in the wrist joint.
Last year’s six-time Alps Tour winner, who gained his European Tour card after winning the Open de Portugal in May, had travelled to Newcastle-upon-Tyne seeking to continue a run of form that had seen him make five consecutive cuts and claim two top-10 finishes.
