Relentless Bovingdon made it eight wins out of the eight to remain a point clear at the Herts Senior County League summit.

Cuffley were on the receiving end of a 7-1 drubbing in their own back yard on Saturday as the Premier Division table-toppers extended their 100 per cent record to stay ahead of Letchworth Garden City Eagles.

Two points further back in third are Belstone, who also continued their perfect start to the league campaign as a comfortable 6-1 home victory over Evergreen made it seven wins out of seven.

Danny Johnson and Darren Turner both scored a brace for the victors, who also had Harry Adcroft and Ross O’Flynn on target, while Charlie Benning netted Evergreen’s consolation.

Adrian Abramian’s hat-trick fired Chipperfield Corinthians to their third league win of the season as they got the better of Buntingford Town 4-2.

Abramian opened the scoring in the 18th minute and after Matt Evans had netted again in the 36th minute, the treble was completed with goals in the 77th and 81st minutes.

Struggling Bushey Sports Club had a difficult day as they were beaten 5-1 at Wormley Rovers.

Sarratt’s lead at the top of Senior Division One is now four points after goals from James Charlton, Robbie Martin, Lewis Martindale and Marcus Rivers saw them to a 4-0 success at Bengeo Trinity.

Bovingdon Reserves and Oxhey Jets Reserves also enjoyed victorious afternoons, with 3-1 and 3-2 wins over Hatfield Social and Kinja respectively.

Reserve & Development 2 leaders Old Parmiterians made it four wins out of four without kicking a ball as they were handed a walkover against Sporting 145, as were Chipperfield Corinthians Reserves in their scheduled fixture at Bushey Sports Club Reserves.

Jack Eians and Glenn O’Malley netted as Evergreen Under-21s defeated Cuffley Reserves 2-0, but goals from Wayne Gladdy and Ian Holdom were not enough for Oxhey Jets Vets, who lost out 4-2 at home to Welwyn Borough.

Sarratt Reserves were also beaten at home, 5-0 by Harpenden Rovers.
