Although it is a bit early for carollers, residents should get ready for canvassers to hit their doorstep to check their details.

Council officers from Hertsmere Borough Council will be calling around at 10,000 homes in the borough to make sure that details are up to date on the electoral register.

All 43,000 residential addresses in the borough were sent forms to make sure that householder’s details are correct and encouraging anyone not signed up to do so.

Information needs to be up to date to ensure that residents are eligible to vote in elections, and it is important that anyone who has recently moved to check that they are registered.

The canvass is scheduled to end on Sunday, November 12 and all staff taking part will carry ID badges.
