ONE student has blown away the competition to win a scholarship from an energy company.

Stefan Bartlett, 22, from Chorleywood is one of only 28 people to be get a scholarship from the ScottishPower Foundation.

The grant will go towards his Masters in Energy Engineering at the University of East Anglia, which he will start this year.

Stefan said: “I am so grateful to be receiving this scholarship from the ScottishPower Foundation. Not only does it remove the financial strain of further study, but the opportunities with being involved with such a massive industry player are huge.“I’ve always been interested in combating climate change and how we can change the way we get our energy, so the renewables industry stands out. It’s relatively young and extremely innovative, so there’s lots of avenues to explore.

“I’m excited to be staying in East Anglia, a hotspot for offshore wind with ScottishPower Renewables’ proposed windfarms, which is definitely something I want to learn more about.”
