People are invited to share their opinions on a review of ward boundaries.

A public consultation to look at new proposals for the Potters Bar ward will be held until Tuesday, October 31.

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) will be listening to residents’ views on the proposals before finalising their recommendations for new wards across Hertsmere.

This is the second consultation held this year to discuss boundary changes, and the proposals put forward reflect what the views put forward, particularly in Potters Bar.

The changes state that the town should be covered by two councillors representing a new Bentley Heath and the Royds ward, alongside two councillors for Potters Bar Furzefield and two councillors for Potters Bar Parkfield.

This would mean that the Potters Bar Oaksmere would no longer be represented as it is now by three councillors, as the evidence found in the review shows that this would give a better reflection of how the community actually works.

Details including maps of the proposed changes are available at www.lgbce.org.uk or http://www.lgbce.org.uk/current-reviews/eastern/hertfordshire/hertsmere.

Residents can put forward their views by writing to the Review Officer for Hertsmere at LGBCE, 14th floor, Millbank Tower, London SW1P 4QP or emailing reviews@lgbce.org.uk.
